Overall planning feasibility study on the installation of 25 MW wind energy on three sites in the Dutch province Groningen

Description

An overall planning feasibility analysis method has been developed by the authors to assess within a short period the impacts of a wind turbine array on local nature values, the landscape, existing infrastructures, the current policy and human beings. In this report the results of the method for three sites in the Dutch province Groningen are presented. It concerns two locations near Delfzijl and Eemshaven, and a location in the Eems-/Emmapolder. For each site the installation of wind turbine arrays, with a total capacity of 25 MW, has been considered for two turbine types: the 33M-VS turbine of US Windpower and the Bonus 450 kW WTG. Brief attention is paid to the estimated difference in electricity yield of the wind turbine types at the three locations. 22 figs., 4 tabs., 1 appendix, 72 refs
