Phase-formation in K2MoO4-AMoO4-Zr(MoO4)2 systems (A=Mg, Mn)

Quasi-binary cross sections of the K2MoO4-AMoO4-Zr(MoO4)2 (A=Mg, Mn) system were studied by means of solid phase reactions. Ternary molybdates with compositions 5:1:3 (S1), 1:1:1: (S2), 2:1:6 (S3) were prepared./ Monocrystals with compositions 5:1:3 and 1:1:1 were raised and lattice parameters were determined by Laue method. The compound S1 offers trigonal symmetry and is characterized by rhombohedral cell with noncentrisymmetry space group R3c, a=b=10.576 (1. c=37.511 (3) A, V=3633.6 (1) A, dm=3.54, Z=6, dc=3.576 g/cm3. The compound S2 is crystallized in trigonal syngony with parameters a=b=5.763 (4) A, c=7.187 (5) A, sp.gr. P3-barm1, Z=1, dm=3.347 g/cm3. 10 refs., 3 figs
