About plutonium concentration and distribution in soils of nearer zone of the Beloyarsk NPP

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow (Russian Federation). Geologicheskij Inst.

Description

The studies realized in 1985 and 1987 have shown that plutonium contents in soils of meadows and woods at the distance of 3.5 and 10 km along the wind rose constitute 161-183, 118-139 and 116-134 Bq/m2. These data give an opportunity to conclude that noticeable change in radiation situation for the long period of the Beloyarsk NPP operation has not took place. The plutonium falling-out with gas-aerosol effluents is quickly included into biochemical migration cycles, which is accompanied with its redistribution in soil profile
