Crystal field effects in the NdAl compound

Description
NdAl compound is investigated using the method of slow neutron inelastic scattering. The optimal set of crystal electric field hamiltonian Blm parameters is determined. The circuit of Nd3+ ion 4I9/2 basic multiplet level is reconstructed. Results of measuring Csch thermal capacity temperature dependence are presented. Based on Blm parameters the magnetic susceptibility χ0 and Schottky thermal capacity Csch are calculated and their comparison to experimental data is performed
