Description
The compatibility in liquid lithium at elevated temperature was tested with the low-atomic-number ceramic materials BN, Si3N4, MgO and stabilized ZrO2 which seem to be promising materials in fusion reactor application. At 6000C only MgO stayed in good shape, showing grainboundary attack. BN, Si3N4 and ZrO2 have formed compounds with lithium. (orig.)
