Behaviour of neutrons from spallation reaction and Pu-Be source in comparable moderating environments. Experimental estimation of the spallation neutron yield

Description
It is shown that the spectra of neutrons from spallation processes and from a Pu-Be neutron source are very similar after slowing down in comparable moderating environments. Such similarity can be used to estimate the spallation neutron yield via comparison of the activities of the activation samples in two systems. (orig.)
