Dust-acoustic wave instability at the diffuse edge of RF inductive low-pressure gas discharge plasma

Description

A spontaneous excitation of a wave of grain density in a dusty cloud suspended at the diffuse edge of RF inductive gas discharge is revealed. The main physical parameters of this wave and background plasma are measured. The theoretical model of the observable phenomenon basing on the theory of dust acoustic waves in a collisional dusty plasma well correlates with the experimental data in a broad band of experimental conditions. The analytical research of influence of a variable charge of dust grains on the development observable dusty plasma instability is conducted. It is shown, that a necessary condition for development of dusty plasma instability is an availability of the permanent electrical field (E0 ≥ 3 V/cm) at the area of dusty cloud
