Nonstochastic effects of ionizing radiation
Description
A report prepared by a task group of ICRP Committee 1 reviews the nonstochastic biological and health effects of ionizing radiation, with particular reference to their implications for dose limits in radiation protection. The general principles of the effects of radiation on cells and tissues are discussed. Special reference is then made to the responses of those tissues and organs that are considered to be most important, based on analysis of the relevant laboratory and clinical data. (U.K.)
