Description
Automatic translation: Summary: In the oxidation of Hastelloy X in the range 650 °C to 900 °C had been found that the inhibiting effect of the oxide layers gets better with increasing coating temperature. After Conversion of the furnace for even higher coating temperatures due to the installation of a new recipient, the process parameters had to be redefined and optimized. In DEUPERM, retention factors of up to 160 are measured at 800 °C, when oxidized at 1000 °C. uncertainties in the Measured valuesdue to the reduction of proportionate nickel and iron oxides in the spinel layer by the measurement gas D2 and possible crack formation during temperature cycling between production and measurement should be excluded in the future by the Permeation determined by adding D2O in an oxidizing atmosphere so that defects can heal. There are hints that damages the layer generally the permeability increase much more than just area-proportionally. Additional permeation measurements with tritium under comparable, i.e. reducing, conditions at the University of Münster basically confirm the results of DEUPERM. Further was found that with relatively good protective layers there is a strong temperature dependence of the permeation. The retention factors of a sample are 5000 at 700 °C and only 230 at 800 °C test temperature.
