Corrosion resistance of steel O3KH18N11 and its joints in nitric acid solutions

Description
Corrosion resistance of 03Kh18N11 steel and its joints made by two methods, depending on nitric acid concentration, is studied at different temperatures. Corrosion resistance of 03Kh18N11 steel and its compounds in 5-98 % nitric acid at boiling temperatures of 20 deg C is practically equivalent and does not depend on the welding procedure (automatic or manual argon arc welding). Character of corrosion failure in the whole range of nitric acid concentrations and temperatures for welded joints of 03Kh18N11 steel is uniform. Advantage of 03Kh18N11 steel in relation to 12Kh18N10T steel is that at increased concentrations of nitric acid (more than 50%) on welded joints the knife-line corrosion is absent
