Description

In 1984 a new analysis of the gravitational antenna cross sections was published, taking many particle coherence effects into account, giving much larger cross sections than the 1960 analysis for a single quadrupole. If the observed pulses are from Supernova 1987A, the new cross sections for pure quadrupole radiation require gravitational energy less than 102 solar masses
