Absolute photoionisation cross section of the 113D state of 4He

Description
The absolute photoionisation cross section of the 113D Rydberg state of 4He has been measured over a range of frequencies very close to the ionisation threshold. The measurements are compared with a calculation of the cross section performed using the quantum defect method, and the agreement is found to be within the +-20% uncertainty associated with the measurements.
