Radioactive beam studies at RIKEN
Description
Many new experiments have been made using radioactive nuclear beams at RIKEN since the last Nuclear Physics Conference in 1992. In this talk, I would like to present the recent activities at RIKEN's radioactive beam facility. However, because of the limit on the time I can not cover many important results. They are: measurements of the soft dipole mode of excitation in halo nuclei (11Be, 11Li) [1,2], the Coulomb excitation of 32Mg and the disappearance of a magic number [3], Coulomb excitation of a K isomer in 174Hf[4], a measurement of fusion cross sections of a halo nucleus 11Be[5], and a determination and a comparison of radii of mirror nuclei [6]. In the following, I present some of the most recently obtained data by research groups at RIKEN. (author)
