Angular dependence of the fast-light-particle emission following heavy-ion reactions

Description

A simple theoretical approach for the nonequilibrium component of the angular correlation between light particles and projectilelike fragments emitted in peripheral heavy-ion collisions is discussed. In particular it is emphasized that many characteristic features of the angular correlation pattern in general do not imply that the fast light particles emerge from the contact zone between the two colliding nuclei. Besides, following a semi-classical picture, it is outlined how a relation-ship between the nonequilibrium decay time and the light-particle emission angle may be assumed
