Radiation-chemical reduction of Co2+ ions in aqueous solution. Metal sols and their properties
Description
Radiation-chemical reduction of Co2+ ions in aqueous solutions of Co(ClO4)2 containing HCOONa is studied. Stable solutions of colloidal cobalt are formed in the presence of polyacrylate. The metal sol particles have spherical shape, 2 - 4 nm in diameter. It is established that the radiation-chemical reduction of Co2+ ions occurs via an autocatalytic mechanism. The metal sols catalyze the reduction of Co2+ ions by radical ions CO2.-. The properties of metal sols are investigated, and it is shown that the sols are readily oxidized by dioxygen, hydrogen peroxide and other compounds

Изучено радиационно-химическое восстановление ионов Co2+ в водных растворах Co(ClO4)2, содержащих формиат натрия (HCOONa). При γ-облучении в присутствии полиакрилата в качестве стабилизирующей добавки образуются устойчивые золи металла, содержащие сферические частицы диаметром 2 - 4 нм. Установлено, что радиационно-химическое восстановление развивается по автокаталитическому механизму. Золи металла катализируют восстановление ионов Co2+ образующимися при облучении ион-радикалами CO2.-. Исследованы свойства золей и показано, что они легко окисляются кислородом, пероксидом и другими окислителямиAdditional details
