Forces acting on the plasma filament in multipole transverse magnetic fields
Description
Fields of applicability of magnetohydrodynamical (MHD) and Lagrangian methods for investigation of plasma filament stability are considered. It is shown that only in case of quadrupole external fields the Lagrangian approach and MHD method are equivalent
