On the resistance to slag of zirconium materials

Description
Interaction of refractory materials made of ZrO2, stabilized in cubic form by the following additions (mol.%): 12 CoO, 12 MgO, 3 or 8 Y2O3 with metallurgical slags of different composition at 1200-1400 deg C, has been studied by the methods of X-ray phase analysis and microscopy. It has been ascertained that stability of zirconium materials tot he effect of molten slags of different acidity and basicity at high temperatures can be regulated within wide enough ranges by means of changing the type and amount of oxide, stabilizing ZrO2, high-temperature form. 1 refs.; 3 tabs
