Magnetic structure of Fe1/3NbS2

  • 1. Tsukuba Univ., Ibaraki (Japan). Inst. of Physics

Description

Intercalated compound of Fe1/3NbS2 is known as an antiferromagnet with TN around 50 K. In the present study the crystal and magnetic structure of re-examined using neutron diffraction. Though crystal structure is almost the same as the previous report, the magnetic is found to take another type of ordering compared with that of the previous report. Temperature dependence of the magnetization of Fe atom reveals the Ising character of this spin system. (author)
