Method for a statistical model evaluation of capture, inelastic scattering and fission cross sections for heavy nuclei between 1keV and 3MeV

Description

A method for a statistical model evaluation of radiative capture, fission and inelastic scattering cross sections for 1keV to 3MeV neutrons is described. In presence of fission competition, it consists of the determination of the fission channel characteristics by a least-squares fit to various experimental fission data such as angular distributions of fission fragments, total fission cross sections etc... Some applications of this method are given afterwards

Abstract (French)

On decrit une methode d'evaluation par modele statistique de sections efficaces de capture radiative, de fission et d'excitation des niveaux inelastiques, induites par des neutrons dans la gamme d'energie 1keV-3MeV. En presence de competition fission, elle consiste dans la determination des caracteristiques des voies de fission par un ajustement en moindres carres sur diverses donnees experimentales de fission telles que les distributions angulaires de fragments, les sections efficaces integrees etc... Quelques applications de cette methode sont ensuite donnees
