On the equality of differential cross sections of secondary particles in pA and π-A interactions at high energies

Description

Experimental data on pA- and π-A interactions at high energies are analyzed. It is noted that in the rapidity scale y there is a specific point y0, close to which the differential cross section of secondary particles does not depend on a target type and is slightly dependent on the kind of incident particles. The energy dependence y0 is presented for πA- and pA-interactions in the 4-400 GeV energy range. It has a simple form y0(E)=a+b lnE. Values of the parameters turned out to be a=-C.11+-0.26 and b=0.96+-0.07. The maximum rapidity changes with energy as lnE and b approximately 1. The value of L=ysub(max)-ysub(0) doesn't depend on the collision energy. Lsub(p) is shown to be equal to Lsub(π)=2.8+-0.2
