Simplified judging criteria for MUF evaluation

  • 1. Nuclear Material Control Center, Tokyo (Japan)

Description

Using material accounting data and measurement errors, σMUF is calculated by error propagation. The calculation is highly complicate and cannot be easily performed during inspection. When a large MUF is found, it is very important to investigate the cause as soon as possible. Here, we propose to identify whether the MUF is within ±0.5SQ or not as the simplified judging criteria. If MUF exceeds ±0.5SQ, σMUF should be calculated exactly by conventional method and the follow-up action should be performed immediately for the investigation of the cause of MUF. (author)
