The effect of precursory cooling on the rewetting rate

Description
A numerical model to predict the rate of advance of the wet front along an overheated wall was developed and tested with available experimental data. The model shows that the predicted unsteady rate of advance of the wet front, which is in agreement with experimental results, is due to precursory cooling. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Es wurde ein numerisches Modell zur Vorhersage des Fortschreitens der Benetzungsfront laengs einer ueberhitzten Wand entwickelt und an experimentellen Daten geprueft. Das Modell zeigt, dass das vorhergesagte ungleichfoermige Fortschreiten der Benetzungsfront durch die Vorlaufkuehlung bedingt ist. Dies steht in Uebereinstimmung mit den Experimenten.
