Description

The binding of Cd2+ to the model membranes Di-myristoyl L-α-phosphatidic acid (DMPA) and Di-myristoyl L-α-phosphatidylcholine (DMPC) was studied by time differential perturbed angular correlation (TDPAC) on 111mCd via its nuclear quadrupole interaction. Whereas Cd2+ does not bind to the neutral DMPC, it binds to charged DMPA up to a 0.8:1 Cd/lipid ratio. (orig.)
