Optical phonon spectroscopy of heterovalent disordered Ca3(Nb, Ga)2Ga3O12 crystals with garnet structure
Description
Manifestation of structural and crystallochemical peculiarities of lattice disorder in Raman spectra of new heterovalent garnet Ca3(Nb, Ga)2Ga3O12 crystals is studied and explained by the comparison with other known ordered garnet crystals. The dependence between spectroscopic properties of activator ions and chemical bonding nature of the host is established, showing the possibility to determine phonon spectra extension and covalency of the host, using only the data of spectral-luminescence analysis.
