Description

By AP 1000 Spent Fuel Storage Rack (SFSR) is located in Spent Fuel Pool of Auxiliary Building. The basic function of the Spent Fuel Storage Racks is to store fresh or irradiated fuel assemblies. The supplier of spent fuel storage rack is American company, and the work of design and manufacture is based on American Standard, but the reference domestic standard for SFSR is HAD102-15/2007 Design of Fuel Handling and storage systems for Nuclear Power Plant. Although the American standard for the design of SFSR is basically consistent with the China regulation, it still exist several differences for critical limit, double contingency principle and the burnup credit analytic technique. Thus, it is necessary to perform appropriate design change of SFSR to satisfy the relevant requirement of nuclear safety. This context introduce the design and the criticality safety of spent fuel storage rack, and analyse the critical design difference of SFSR between US and Chinese standard. (author)
