Caesium-137 manual after-loading system - calculation of dose rates and their comparison with BRIT supplied values
Description
The new BRIT supplied 137Cs kit contains 3 sources (120 mCi, 80 mCi, 80 mCi) in the long intrauterine tandem, two sources (120 mCi and 80 mCi) in the medium intrauterine tandem and one source (80 mCi) in each vaginal ovoid. Use of sievert-integral can be made to calculate the dose rate at point A and point B. It is concluded that the method gives reliable results for calculating the dose rates at point A and for point B one can reduce the calculated dose rates by around 10 percent
