Description

A generalized dispersion relation, which describes modulational instabilities in a pumped electron-ion plasma, is investigated, and it is shown that relativistic electron mass variations can be important, even when comparatively small amplitude waves are considered. The existence of new unstable solutions is also demonstrated. (Auth.)
