Investigation of the oxidation of the Fesub(0.75)Crsub(0.25) alloy by means of X-ray electron spectroscopy
Description
The mechanism of surface enrichment of Fe-Cr alloys by various components under certain conditions of oxidation has been revealed by X-ray electron spectroscopy. The distribution of Fe and Cr in different states of oxidation in the near-surface layer of the Fesub(0.75)Crsub(0.25) alloy has been investigated. Data on the surface oxide composition vs. oxygen pressure and temperature indicate that it is a Fe3O4, Cr2O3 mixed oxide, the ratio between the two being dependent on the transfer in the solid phase and on the solid-phase reaction kinetics
