Releases from BWR radwaste management systems
Description
Estimates are presented of planned or expected radioactive emissions from the waste systems associated with the General Electric BWR/6 standard plant design. The system and equipment performance experience is documented, and the calculational methods used in estimating effluent releases are described. The waste systems discussed include the low temperature recombiner-charcoal (RECHAR) off-gas treatment system and the evaporator, traveling-bed filter-type liquid-solid radwaste treatment systems. Inputs to the waste systems are based on a single 3833 MWt BWR/6 plant incorporating deep bed condensate polishers and powdered resin reactor water cleanup demineralizers. 11 references. (auth)
