Atomic beam magnetic resonance experiments; nuclear spin and moments of some As isotopes

Description
The design, construction and testing of an atomic beam magnetic resonance apparatus are described. A discussion of transmission calculations, the choice of the design parameters and constructional details of various components are given. Tests comprise experiments with stable K, Rb and Cs atoms. 39K is chosen as a calibration standard for hfs measurements. Hfs constants were determined for sup(69, 70, 71, 72)As and nuclear magnetic moments and spins were derived from the measurements. This proves the ABMR technique well suitable for studying nuclear ground state spins of radioactive nuclei
