Relativistic positronium channel of the IHEP synchrotron

Description

A high-vacuum channel intended for production of ultrarelativistic positronia is described. Requirements to the design of the channel are presented, major parameters of its basic units are given. Experimental conditions of the observation of relativistic positronia with γ-factors in the 800-2000 range at the U-70 accelerator are described. The total number of positronia transmitted through the channel during 250 h equals ∼ 2000
