Volume reduction of radioactive wastes like gloves, fabrics, plastics..., placed in a drum is obtained by driving in the drum an intermediary lid with an edge shaped to prevent the upraise, especially by locking in the grooves of the drum and the cycle is started again until filling the drum up

Les dechets radioactifs etant places dans un fut, on les comprime en enfoncant dans le fut un precouvercle dont les bords sont rendus deformables afin d'empecher une remontee du precouvercle par blocage de ses bords sur les parois du fut notamment par engagement dans des gorges menagees dans ces parois, puis on recommence le cycle jusqu'a remplissage complet du fut
