An approach for a consistent description of gamma-ray spectra from (n, xγ) reactions induced by fast neutrons

Description
A consistent description of γ-ray spectra produced by fast-neutron-induced (n,xγ) reactions can be achieved using statistical models for the de-excitation of highly excited states by a superposition of equilibrium and pre-equilibrium emission of particles and/or γ quanta. Results for Si and Fe at Esub(n) = 14 MeV are given and discussed. (author)
