Description
Full text.In laser produced plasmas non-thermal electrons would be generated with an anisotropic velocity distribution. Spatially anisotropic collisions induce an unequally population of some magnetic sublevels within an atomic level. this alignment gives rise to a linear polarization of the radiation emitted during the decay of these magnetic sublevels. By Plasma Polarization Spectroscopy (PPS) we can investigate the anisotropic, and thus non-thermal, features of the plasma. In this work, we should explore a tool to diagnose the angular distribution of these non-thermal electrons based on the polarization degree of resonance line, noted w, 1s2p 1p1→1s21S0 emitted from He-like aluminium ions. the population of the magnetic sublevels 2 1P1 Mj =0,±1 are assumed to be collisional-radiative equilibrium. It means that both the excitation from the 1s21S0 ground level and 1s2s 1S0 metastable level were included. The collision strengths for transitions from the 1 1S0 ground level and 2 1S0 metastable level to the 2 1P1 level and its individual magnetic sublevels Mj were computed in the intermediate coupling scheme using the DW code
