Superheavy intermediate molecules and quantum electrodynamics of overcritical fields in heavy-ion collisions

  • 1. Frankfurt Univ. (Germany, F.R.). Inst. fuer Theoretische Physik

Description

The electrodynamics of heavy ion collisions in supercritical fields is considered. The dacay of a neutral electron-positron vacuum and the stability of a charged vacuum, as well as the potentialities of the undressed-nuclei h sics are discussed. The curves of the dependence of the binding energy of superheavy-nuclei electrons on Z, the positions of the lower energy levels of a supercritical U + U (Z=Z=92) quasimolecule, the probability of the production of the (U + U) system of central collision at an ion energy of 812.5 MeV and the cross section of production of positrons by the (U + U) system at different ion energies are given. The background effects are considered
