Description

A variational study of isovector giant resonance states is carried out with the aim of obtaining a macroscopic understanding of isovector vibrations on the basis of the TDHF theory by following the approach given by Bertsch et al. Employing a parametric form nabla vector(j sub(L)(or)Y sub(L))tau sub(Z) for the velocity field, we derive an asymptotic formula for isovector states in the large A limit. (author)
