Assessment report of the 22 July 2021 on the arrangement of regulated prices of electric power sales
Description
This report of the Competition Authority first proposes observations regarding European and French legal contexts of electric power markets and sale prices, then a brief discussion of the peculiarities of the French electric power market, and a brief presentation of general data regarding the electric power retail market (market shares, concentration). Then, it reports an analysis which addresses objectives of general economic interest (security of supply, social and territorial cohesion, price stability), the impact of regulated sale prices on the retail market (competition dynamics, actual captive consumers, price structuring), and the categories of consumers for which a price regulation is not necessary
