Radon - a rarely noticed risk
Description
In Germany the mean radiation exposure by radon in buildings is about 0.9 mSv per year, outdoors about 0.2 mSv per year; this is more than half of the natural radiation exposure. The brochure of the Bundesamt fuer Strahlenschutz informs about the radon distribution in Germany, contribution of radon exposure to the carcinoma risk and the possibilities for protection in case of new and old buildings.
