Numerical simulation of heat transfer in diamond under electron beam irradiation
- 1. Tsinghua Univ., Beijing (China). Dept. of Engineering Physics
Description
Energy can be transferred to atoms in crystal lattice when diamond is colored via electron beam irradiation. And it will be released in the limited area of medium in the form of heat, which diffuses in accordance with the classical principle of heat transfer. This paper presents numerical simulation concerning heat transfer in diamond using Matlab. Different iteration methods were applied to the inner part and the boundary of the object. Results showed that this method could obtain the same accuracy as PDE tool box while required less computational time. The influence of irradiation time, absorbed dose rate, and ambient temperature on heat transfer has been researched. (authors)
