High-resolution VUV-laser spectroscopic study of the B 1Σ+(u)(v' = 0-2)→ X 1Σ+(g)(v' = 0) Lyman bands in H2 and HD

  • 1. Laser Centre, Vrije Universiteit, De Boelelaan 1081, 1081 HV Amsterdam (Netherlands)

Description

Spectroscopic measurements on the B 1Σ+u (v'= 0-2) → X 1Σ+g (v' = 0) Lyman bands in H2 and the B 1Σ+ (v'= 0-2) → X 1Σ+ (v' = 0) Lyman bands in HD are presented using a narrow bandwidth vacuum ultraviolet laser system combined with an accurate frequency calibration. These measurements complete the recently published data on the Lyman frequency transitions of Philip et al (2004 Can. J. Chem. 82 713-22). (letter to the editor)
