Analysis of local efficiency of separation process in Iguass centrifuge rotor

Description
The work is devoted to development of methods for analysis of efficiency in separation of binary isotope mixture in rotor of gas centrifuge during numerical modelling of current in the rotor. The peculiarities of approach is treated on the example of 235U, 238U isotope separation in Iguass model centrifuge. The Monte Carlo method of direct statistical regulation was used for the description of the kinetic part of within rotor flow and the task of correct broad conditions as viewed from diluted gas. Maximum efficiency of the separation (∼0.9) is achieved in the bottom part of the thermal convection vortex. Application of the efficiency gives an insight into the mechanism of the loss in separation capacity in the rotor and determine of the methods for their elimination
Abstract (Russian)
Работа посвящена развитию методов анализа эффективности процесса разделения бинарной изотопной смеси в роторе газовой центрифуги при численном моделировании внутрироторного течения. Особенности подхода рассматриваются на примере анализа разделения изотопов 235U, 238U в игуасской модельной центрифуге. Для описания кинетической части внутрироторного течения и задания корректных граничных условий со стороны разреженного газа применяется метод прямого статистического регулирования Монте-Карло. Максимальная эффективность разделения (∼0.9) достигается в нижней части теплового конвекторного вихря. Применение поля кпд позволяет лучше понять механизмы образования потерь разделительной способности в роторе и определить способы их устраненияFiles
