Description
The change in glass optical transmission due to the effects of radiation electrization is investigated. Glasses K-208 of commercial catalogue, possessing visually noticeable cathode luminescence under the effect of electron flows of mean energies (50-100) keV, are subjects of the investigation. It is shown that the change in the K-208 glass transmission under the effect of electron flow with the energy of several dozens of kiloelectronvolt depends on the sample thickness, irradiated surface radius and sublayer material on which glass samples are located during exposition. The dependence of losses as a result of transmission caused by the above-mentioned conditions is related to glass electrization due to irradiation and appearance of strong electric fields, restricting electron injection in glass
