Electron diffraction study of some copper tellurides
Description
Equilibrium Cusub(2-x)Te alloys containing 32.9, 34.0, 36.0, 36.6 at % Te and Cu2Te and CuTe alloys obtained by vaporization and condensation in vacuum were investigated by the electron diffraction analysis. Several new phases were discovered, the types and the parameters of their lattices determined. The effect was studied of the irradiation by electrons (E=1.5 MeV) and protons (E=6.8 MeV) upon the structure of the CuTe alloy. A hexagonal phase β' of Cu7Te4 composition was detected in irradiated specimens. A strong background on the electronogram evidenced of many structural defects
