Application of the induction-coupled plasma system to spectral analysis
Description
In this report, an account is given of the application of an induction-coupled plasma system for the excitation of emission spectra to a variety of analytical problems encountered in the laboratory. The results achieved are compared with those obtained by other techniques.The general absence of common matrix effects was confirmed, and it was established that calibration can be carried out for a wide variety of samples with a single set of calibration standards, provided that the sample and standard solutions contain the same concentration of easily ionized element. It is indicated that the source would be capable of carrying a considerably increased work load if better measuring equipment were used
