Reactor core positioning problem solving and method innovation in Yangjiang Unit 1 nuclear power plant

  • 1. China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd., Yangjiang (China)

Description

Manipulator crane is one of the key equipment which belong to the fuel handling and storage system (PMC system). The positioning of reactor core is a prerequisite for fuel loading and unloading. There is a positioning problem that the dummy would bump against the lower internals in Yangjiang Unit 1. In this paper, all the possible reasons were analyzed and discussed. The most important one was that the camber of trolley track did not meet the requirement. Based on this, we made a positioning method innovation and gave out 'Four Points Centre and Average Step Length Method'. Finally, this method was applied in Yangjiang Unit 1 and successfully solved the problem. (authors)
