Polyakov spin factor and global anomaly
Description
The correspondence between quantum mechanics of a relativistic spinning particle and quantum field theory is used to calculate Polyakov's spin factor for three-dimensional massless Dirac fermions. A close relation between sign ambiguity of the spin factor and global anomaly of one-dimensional fermions is established. (orig.)
