Description
Results of susceptibility and specific heat measurements on Cesub(1-x)Thsub(x) alloys with 0.2 =< x =< 1 are presented. Susceptibilities were measured at temperatures between 1.6 K and 1100 K and specific heats between 1.3 K and 20 K. At the highest temperatures the cerium atoms are in the trivalent state for all compositions, but at low temperatures the magnetic moments are lost. The Stoner enhancement factor is found to be nearly independent of composition, although the density of states per cerium atom increases by about a factor of two with increasing x. (author)
