The determination of tin in explosive materials by thermal neutron activation analysis

Description
A method based on the measurement of the γ-photopeak at 332 keV arising from a 124Sn(n,γ)125mSn reaction was developed for the rapid measurement of Sn at concentrations of approx. 20 μg g-1, present as the cross-linking agent, in explosive charges. The method is comparative, and has a detection limit of approx. 0.6 μg g-1 and a precision of approx. 5% RSD. The method requires no sample preparation and is economical in effort. (author)
