Consideration for the new radiological protection

  • 1. Nuclear Safety Research Association, Tokyo (Japan)

Description

Although the current radiological protection systems of ICRP publ.60 and other related publications are comprehensive and well organized, they are still complex and incoherent in some aspects. Therefore a new concept for radiological protection is coming up for discussion. For discussing the radiological protection, we have set up a committee in the NSRA (Nuclear Safety Research Association) and have been arguing the theme. From the result of our discussion, we would like to suggest some important issues for the consideration such as dose limitation for the public, the problems on the use of LNT model, comparison between the risk of radiation and that of others and the other important issues for developing the new radiological protection system
