The crucial role of spin in large angle scattering

Description
We remark that in spite of its success in predicting the observed scaling laws in large angle hadron-hadron scattering, perturbative QCD fails rather badly in accounting for the striking spin effects discovered in the last few years. On the other hand, we show that a simple physical approach exists which gives theoretical predictions in good agreement with experimental observations. Further tests of it are suggested. (orig.)
